The significance of it is lost somewhere deep in my mind . . . .
Strange how the catastrophic calamities of childhood fade
As once vital events slither into a miasmic mist of oblivion,
Memories faded into the milieu of gray childhood shadows,
A discolored memory encased in time like a bug in amber glass,
An old keepsake hidden under old papers in a desk drawer . . . .
My mind a canvas constantly painted anew hiding these things.
