innocence i claim

in the times of hurt and strife

please defend me, Lord

when i stumble in the fight

i have trusted Thee always

doubt has never came to fear

test and try my heart and mind

i know that You are near

my eyes recognize Your love

Your Truth reigns in my life

my time is not spent with liars

for they hide their sin in night

i do not like the company

of evil men who deceive

my place is not with them

i now wash my hands clean

to prove i am innocent

i come fall to Your alter

in praise my voice stretches high

Your miracles have not faltered

my love is for You in Your temple

where Your glory resides

do not kill me with the murderers

who carry evil in their eyes

their hands are full of greed

they do wrong for selfish gain

i am innocent my King

i have come to praise Your name

i stand alone in a safe place

Your peace surrounds me here

this meeting of peoples

i cry innocent tears
