The love we shared was all that it could be,

All the days when it was just you and me…

Together we were always there,

Together we promised to always care…

But then it changed that one summer day,

And you told me you had to get away…

I asked you when you would return,

And you said to me with a tear in your eye…



I’ll be back when the sky is green,

And the grass is blue.

I’ll be back when the king is queen,

And teddy bears rule.

I’ll be back when truth becomes lies,

I’ll be back on the thirty-second of July.



So it’s here I’ll sit and wait,

Praying to God that it’s not too late…

Staying here with tears upon my cheek,

Feeling my heart growing weak…

I don’t know what else to do,

I’m lost without your hand guiding me through…

Babe, I really need you here with me,

So this is where I’m gonna be…
