I kept giving you chances

that I never would ve given myself.

I forgave things that hurt me.

Ignored things that bothered me.

And stayed through situations

would ve told anyone else to walk away from.

Because when you love someone...

you start seeing their potential

instead of their patterns.

You focus on who they could be

instead of who they keep showing you they are.

And thats exactly what I did.

I held onto promises

while living through disappointments.

I held onto hope

while watching the effort disappear.

And by the time I accepted the truth...

I had already spent so much time

trying to save someone

who wasn't trying to save us.
