I could have wished your world went dark,

The way you dimmed the light in mine,

But hate just leaves another mark,

And keeps the wound alive with time.

I let the anger leave my chest,

Not for your sake, but for my soul,

Some battles end when we choose rest,

Some broken hearts become whole. 

So keep the story how you please,

I'm not correcting what you say,

I don't need revenge, I need peace,

And peace looks like walking away.
