EMOTIONAL SHUTDOWN

didn't wake up one day and decide to be distant...
I got there slowly.
From conversations that went nowhere.
From feelings that weren't acknowledged.
From trying... and not being met halfway.
So I started pulling back.
Less sharing.
Less explaining.
Less expecting.
Not because I stopped caring -

but because caring started to feel one-sided.
Now it's quiet.
No more long talks.
No more emotional reactions.

I'm finally okay.
But the truth?
This isn't peace...
