Clearly Not That Way
The face in the mirror
she can see it so clear
they tell her shes lovely
but she doesnt see
the size of her nose and shape of her eyes
she thinks what they've said has to be lies
the curve of her lips
that she outlines with fingertips
only sees the negative shes been shown
which for so much of her life she's known
so she doesnt believe what they say
there cant be a way
that she could be beautiful
just thinks shes dull
she wonders if they looked in her mirror
if they could see her so clear
