Saltwater fills my lungs
With a potency that makes them want to bleed
As I stand here
Watching
Waiting
For the sun to slowly rise
Out of a horizon
That dances out beyond my grasp.
The ocean
Breathes in rhythmic beats
In
Out
In
Out.
The dark blue
Made darker by the moonless sky.
I shudder at the coldness within
While the sweat rolls down my forehead
And into my eyes
Stinging
Like tears
Falling
From dry eyes
That finished crying for you years ago
But they still search
For any sight
Any glimpse
That they may catch
Of you.
Like the ocean keeps breathing
My eyes will keep searching.
