ONCE UPON A LONG AGO TIME

Once upon a long ago time,

I existed with a heart of glass,

Now broken into razorlike shards,

To tear into my soul en masse.

I take it all most gallantly,

The pain and strife I face,

While inside I'm slowly dying,

My existance an emotional steeplechase.

I question why I always fight,

For my life is torture profound,

Yet my stubborn nature persists,

Making me become more tightly wound.

My struggles persist still daily,

Bound by chains of dark desire,

Dragging me down into a lake of hatred,

Cares crushed by it's murkey quagmire.
