I rolled upon these hills of sweet and serene
Making progress,
All upon us
With no one in between
My guide had gone and left me widely and alone
No direction,
Just suspension
Above a rock from home
Made believers of us but they had gone before
Open hearted,
Soon departed
And heading towards the morgue
The waves of plains were over then
Distance was my great escape
Above the flowered great beyond
The goal lay still on city shape
I watched my hands rise and fall
Captured light and shifting pitch
I moved them up to horizon view
To see fantastic and obscure resist
And by chance, by accident,
My heaven fell to my expense.
It blew to pieces, in my gaze,
By my touch it went away.
And I said to myself, under my breath --
Explosions are unfortunate.
