I tremble deep inside
as I long for you.
My heart aches
to whisper the words
"I Love You."
But knowing your views
I hide it away--
cloaked behind
layers of walls.
This burning desire
to confide in you
is consuming me,
but still I can't tell you.
Your arms around me,
holding me,
keeping me safe from harm;
your gentle kiss
promising you care
even when
you can't speak
the words aloud;
our whispered conversations
held long into the night;
All are part of why
I love you.
I never thought I'd find
someone who could
make me happy--
someone who I could
talk to about everything
and nothing at all--
someone who I could be
content with
just hearing their voice
or holding their hand.
But I found all this
in you.
I don't know why
I write these words
knowing you
will never see them.
I know your views
on love,
but I just wish
I could tell you
right now.
Because I know what I feel
and deep in my heart
these words long
to come forth
from where they hide.
But I'll not tell you.
These words will remain
deeply buried,
far from your eyes,
until the day
I know you're ready
to hear them.
