This was the hardest thing I've ever had to do--
To get on with my life and forget about you
I remember how it used to be
I tried to push you away--not let you get close to me
But in the end I was betrayed by my heart.
I'd fallen in love with you and my whole world had come apart.
You left me behind, probably found someone new--
The day you left me, my heart split in two
I've gone through weeks of suffering and pain
My only wish for you to be mine again.
You were my everything--my life, my heart, my soul
And then you were gone--running away with the heart you stole
You mean everything to me, but I know I must give up
I can't go on living in the dreams I've made up
I'm not a fighter, so I can't fight for you
I have to move on--to begin anew
I am giving up on all I hold dear--
Giving up on the words I long to hear
Loving you is too high a price,
I'm giving up--making my ultimate sacrifice.
