Her hands are shaking
Her eyes darting around the room
Her stomach jumping
She finds herself too nervous to stand still
Too confused to think clearly
Then her hands are opened wide by a crisp, clear pain
It brings her out of the dark clouds that fill her head
It makes her see color where gray has filled her vision
This purging of emotion is needed to keep her from misery
How can they tell her that this
The only thing that keeps her calm
Is wrong
Please give her this one privilege
To wake herself from her own nightmares and confusion
