Chance encounter with the devil

He put me to the test

He tells me:

“Love me. Kiss me. Keep me.

Don’t ever forget me. Don’t disobey me.

You’ll get all you want

If only you follow my demands

My wants, my needs

They must never go unseen.

Keep inline and you will receive

Anything and everything.”

I think and I consider

But an angel comes down from up above

He is not as charming as the devil in his ways

But he is so much more beautiful

He tells me:

“Love me. Kiss me. Keep me.

Don’t forget me.

I love you. I want you. I need you.

I will follow your every command

Your wants, you needs

They will never go unseen.

I may not be able to grant you all that you wish

But you will have a love

As pure and true as the air we breathe right now.”

My mind is torn, but my heart knows best

I wave the devil on

And kiss my darling angel

“I love you. I will kiss you and keep you.

I’ll never forget your love.

I’ll fulfill your wants and needs

And receive anything and everything

I could ever want

A love from you

As pure and true as the air we breathe.”

He kisses me back

And together in our embrace

We escape to heaven at long last
