And in the darkness
as I await the dawn
to take up my duffel
and beyond my way
possessions few
my load light
burdens cast aside
things I no longer need
on swells slow
beneath seagulls glide
breeze through the riggings
in freshening air
I know not where
the course shall go
what distant shores
for me await
nor does it matter
to begin the new
where I may be
in the new day
the future calls me
I know not where
but I must travel
and go away
