She came from a broken family.
From Canada, somewhere.
She looks for strength,
But she whispers "I am just a girl"
She lived on broken vows,
And gazed through a window.
Her grey eyes were a window,
Looking in, seeking family.
Fantasies of wedding vows.
"If only somewhere",
Wished the girl,
Who wished for strength.
But what is strength?
An unbroken window?
An independent girl.
But what is family?
A place where hugs are given freely, somewhere?
A group with unbroken vows?
A broken heart with love he vows.
Someone who notices her strength.
Who offers in his heart "here" no longer somewhere.
Whose arms are an open window.
Offered his hand, family.
Who fell for this girl.
Who promised no matter what, he will be there for this girl.
One who does not break vows.
One who offered family.
Who loves with all his strength.
For he was once gazing through the window.
Looking for somewhere.
No longer do they have to look for somewhere.
Now a woman who was once a girl,
Gazing through a window.
Now a bride whispering vows.
Her journey gave her strength.
He gave her a family.
They have a family of their own somewhere.
She sees strength in her little girl.
Their vows in a frame, gazing through a window.
Author's Notes/Comments:
Wrote this sestina at work. day dreamed about having a family. I was just gazing out of the window of my office. Thought about Shannon, how strong she is and the struggles she went through. Day dreamed about weddings too.
