I Am Dangerous

In the shadow of twilight's tender embrace,

They spoke to me, with solemn face,

"You're dangerous," they whispered, cautious and shy,

"For you tread the world without ally."

I stood beneath the heavens wide,

Their judgment like a distant tide,

And asked with a curious gleam in my eye,

"What makes me so?" and they did reply,

"Because alone, you blaze and thrive,

Unaided, you keep your spirit alive,

In solitude's vast and endless sea,

You sail with grace, wild and free."

At this, a smile did softly play,

Across my lips, where dreams do sway,

For in their words, I found my light,

A beacon in the dark of night.

Dangerous, yes, like the storm's fierce song,

Yet strong, like the mountains, where I belong,

I smiled, for in their fear, I found my pride,

A lone star, with no need to hide.
