A natural beauty was the lake,
In such a setting most divine;
With the woods and hills make no mistake,
It was perfect were such thoughts of mine.
And to look upon right away,
On such beauty I was sold;
Till attention I didn’t pay
To how the water’s ran cold.
I thought you know I could get past
The cold with beauty to out weigh
But soon I found I couldn’t last
And so difficult it was to stay.
Headlong into that cold lake turned
Where long ago I made the leap;
A foolish boy who in lessons learned
That beauty sometimes ain’t so deep.
