"Daddy? Will you come with me to school today?" she grins..
"No you little piece of sh*t!" he hollers in her face.
"I'm sorry daddy!" She cries, as her father kicks and punches her in the stomach. Every day her abusive father gets drunk and storms into her room every night to 'teach her a lesson.'
She sits there, curled in a protective ball, thinking there must be something wrong with her, as her daddy used to be a loving man. He used to take her shopping for toys on the last weekend of every month, and buy her gifts wherever he went.
Today is daddies day at preschool, She made the mistake of asking him to go. Her mother is helpless against the drunk, raging man, she just sits in the corner of her room and cries every night.
She wants to tell all her friends that something is wrong with her, and that she gets beat up by her daddy every day. She thinks her family is normal, that all little boys and girls get beat up when they do something wrong.
Her father doesn't have emotions, he doesn't care how much she cries or screams when he kicks and hits her, he finds her pain humorous.
She knows deep inside that he must love her, even though he doesn't appear to show it. She has learned to be as quiet as she can while her father beats her, it seems to stop sooner than when she cries.
She doesn't mean to be naughty, surely she only gets 'taught a lesson' when she's naughty? But the teachers at school praise her for doing well and for her love and effort put into her schoolwork, even though she's only five.
