Sometimes the Air Is Thick With Angry Nouns

Drifting heart wandering through a zoo of noises.
Don't leave me stranded.
Don't hurt me wounded.
Bleeding feet.
Walking through a burring coal bed
of left over resentments.

I am watching the news.
Scenes of desolation.
Contemplation.
Which channel will feature
the end of the world?

Dangling metaphors insisting that
all the vowels must be crossed
with symbols of anticipated resentment.

Grasping towel in hand.
Washing the body with lye soap.

Don't forget me when the
rain starts to fall.
Don't ignore me when the trees
turn to brown dust.

Sometimes the air is thick with angry nouns.
