SUGAR CANE CAIN

I have been the Cain
of my sister sugar cane
.. many times have
I through my
purchasing
.. paid hit men
to burn her in the fields
.. along with her
rabbits and mongeese

and in return she
has with her dying
grip
sculpted
chasms in my teeth

had I lived in a more
cosncious time..
when sparkling fructose
crystals will be in
every store
and on every table
.. when date sugar
and other fruit sugars
will replace
murdered plants..
.. my burden , born
on the wings of
plant liberators, would
have been less
