WISHING WELL

WISHING WELL

One wisher fell
in a wishing well
.. a passerby said
I wish you well
.. a second down
did kneel
to scold him
that he fell
in the well
.. a third let a ladder

SILENT REQUEST

The branches of the tree
gently brushed on me
asking silently for water
.. responding so gratefully
fall
into the wishing well

WHAT IF OTHERS GET A'S

What does it matter if he or
she got an A in a course you
have no desire to take or has
a skill you don't desire
to acquire. Those who have
learned through many lives how
to love have graduated from
God's favorite university.

FAT PUMPKIN

The pumpkin cannot grow
lifegiving food and seed
until she grows fatter.
God isn't lecturing her.
He's just giving her
rain and sun and Mother
Earth to turn into
an orange gift. And fat
caterpillars too He gives
leaves.. to help them
become butterflies.

DOUBLE MASTECTOMY

They say that breasts
nurture babies
but a woman I know
tied for the title
of most nurturing
has not had children
and has had a double
mastectomy. She mothers
everyone.
