CONSTELLATIONS OF FRUIT FLIES

*

Constellations of fruit flies
.. spiral as satellites
around the gold moon apple

sweet fragile
little drosophila..
so often abused
by the frankensteins
in their white coats

God protect you all

VOW TO THE SEA

*

On the banks the
leafy boughs
criticized stream
for breaking her vows
not understanding
that her promise
was to flow to the sea
Her promise was
to flow to ths sea.

*

LOW TIDE

*

Low tide.. we are sad
.. the sea has receded
exposing no longer
submerged sands
.. and yet it is then
we see
the legacy of the sea
.. the shining shells
she's left behind
.. the seaweed script
.. the sculpted driftwood

and soon..
it will be high tide
again

HUMAN GOLIATH

*

Was he a suicide bomber
bee.. protecting
his hivefellows from the heavy
tread of human boots?
Was he a David bee
taking on a Goliath 10,000
times his size?
No, for he flew
away without being
killed.. nor did
he kill the man he stung

CANARY YELLOW

*

Do you feel delight
to see buttercup light?
Do you have a favorite?

the gold of a lemonrind
by the sun lemonlined?

dandelion yellow
canary wing yellow
pastel lemonade yellow

or is it the yellow
rays of the sun
as he silently says hello

PRAYER

Every thought or word or verse
is either a benediction or a curse.
The writer prays now for all
about whom she has written.

sometimes extra weight is congealed pain
or anger crystallized round a body
or karma sponged up as
he lifted another up

The sight of great
and funny actor Stanley Tucci
makes millions smile.
His soulspill cannot be
contained within a role.

BRIDAL VEILED BEE TREE

Bridal veiled in white blooms
the green apple tree
visited by 1008 bees
Together the blooms and the bees
sway in the breeze,
starborn crimsonrobed white fruit
waiting in the wings.

Numberless drops of rain
Who can gather them all?
the focused rivers

Tens of thousands of rivers..
Who can bring them together?
the sea's lowlying humility

Legions of dead leaves..
Who can gather them in 1 place?
The moving wind

What can attract all?
The vacuum power of
emptiness, of desirelessness

Endless metal filings..
Who can make them One?
God's infinite magnet heart
