Purple is the
African violet
a symbol
of the African
soul..
each ultraviolet
each one ever
inviolate

Facing the tanks of
the Nazi invasion
wave after wave
after wave of Russian hearts
rushed forward
to lay down their lives
.. in the years before
and after

TWENTY SEVEN MILLION
Russians died..
the world has not given
sufficient tribute
to these who sacrificed more
than all else combined

Brilliant polycolored
mosaic walls of University

sparkle in the sun,
framed by the blazing blue

hiding the baldness of

we thought of
the fernframed
rocks of Jamaica

and of sipping
iced tea (forgive us,
leaves)
on a porch of
a Kingston hotel..
fanned by the sea's

England where the roses
are free high to climb
and stone cottages
last through millenia of time
Where Big Ben calls
all to peaceprayer with chimes
and still scurvy is foiled
by drinks laced with limes

Havana
has aqua and lavender
lemon and saffron
pastel homes lit by the sun.
It has fruit trees studded
with fruits of orange and gold
grapefruit
and avocado
and lime.
It has people of all
hues who live together
in harmony
all this beneath
the azure sky
and encircled by the
many shades of blue sea.

last night..without saying goodbye..
as he the sun has always done.
We knew he had gone
for suddenly
we felt alone.
This morning he was here again!
He has just now flown in from Spain!
We knew he was home....
for suddenly we feel warm.

As the bridge arch semicircles

are made whole, full circles
by silent clear reflecting water
so hearts are made complete
by those who listen in love

and Gulf of Mexico.

The two rivers did

From the air
one can see the blue bodied
butterfly with green wings..

HEALING AMAZON

Baba told the story of a king
who was ill.. a wise man came to the
court and told him to be healed he
should look upon green. The king
spent lakhs and lakhs of rupees
hiring painters to splash jade
and lime and avocado and forestleaf
colors everywhere.. when the sage
returned sometime later he said
'Would it not have been wiser to
purchase green glasses?'

Wells of spirit

Blue green gray water
becomes gray in the midst

rains with mercy certain

In the distance
All slowly clears,

land appears

differing hue
of ever greyer blue
are seen
rising in awesome majesty.
