KOANS FROM MY TEACHER
Unnumbered phrases Baba whispered to me in meditation such as
'Not in the morning pond does the lion wash his blood.'
'Embezzled Heart'
'Inside the chalice of wrath is the blood of Jesus'
'They tangle the edge of the river with vines'
"Cover your heart"
while Yogananda said in meditation:
'The Star of India is within you'
Baba showed me countless pictures in my third eye:
a 4 sided church clock tower in the rain... both hands at 6.. and
each dripping rain drops
He has given me endless dreams... to teach me, to expand my mind,
to nudge me into better ways.
It is not the horse head in the fountain which is the source of the
water flowing through it.
Baba is my indwelling muse.
BABA's GREEN ROBE
So often Swami
you are clothed in
orange..
1 day a year in white
.. but every day
around the world
you wear Your leafy
green robe..
GIRIDHAR AND GARUDA
The hearts of the world
weave Garuda's wings
on which are borne to
victory
John Kerry and peace
BOBOLINK
The songs of bobolinks
are bright Baba Links
.. sweetsounding portals
to realms immortal
***
BREATHREN
All creatures
are his brethren
All creatures
are his breathren
and he himself
while in the body
was often
a breatharian

SPINNERS
The trees have
endlessly spun
green leaves
from the shining sun.
The spiders tirelessly
spin their webs
Gandhi ever turning loom
shuttles in his room
The caterpillar
keeps spinning his cocoon
Thoughts woven
constantly in the mind the peace to win.
Krishna the immediate
unfurling fabric of Droupadi spins.
FROND CURTAIN
A jade curtain of
willow fronds
parts the world of
green earth
from that of blue pond
ORANGE
Hunters wear orange in the
woods to keep from being
killed by fellow hunters.
In the north of Ireland,
Protestants wear orange
to separate themselves
from the green of Catholics.
Buddhist and Hindu
monks wear orange
as sannyasis, monks
who renounce all
desire-sparked action.
And the greenleafed
orange tree
wears orange..
when she is heavy with fruit.
SWAM IN SWAMI
Whenever they meditated..
in the ocean of their
infinite Swami
they swam
