OCEAN SWALLOWS

In the ocean's
becalmed depths
he swallows
the thought waves
he creates in the shallows.

PARADISE UNFOLDING

With global warming
the fruit trees of Iberia
and the sun of Liberia
are awakening paradise
in Siberia.

SILENT ONES

They do not to
speakers give ear
It is the words of nonspeakers
they wish to hear.

SCOLDING SQUIRREL

Scolding squirrel..
do not fear..
the oak tree planters
will leave many
acorns for you.

CAMEL APPROACHING EYE
OF NEEDLE

As the church standards
at St Paul's Episcopal
must be lowered
in order to enter
the sanctuary
so the flags kidnapped
by the forces of war profiteering
violence must be lowered
to enter the halls of God..

OMNIPRESENCE

When she was a little
girl her father told
her there was no Santa
Claus. When her father died
she for a short time
believed that there was no
Santa Claus..
but as water pours through
many mouths in an Italian
fountain..
so the Spirit of Giving
is omnipresent.

BE STILL AND KNOW THAT

The choppy seas of
grief had fractured
the reflected sun into
1 million pieces..
but quietness has
stilled the image
and restored the one
peace.

THE WAY UNFOLDS

The snow melts
and then the trickle
seaward as a stream uncurls.
The sun shines on
spring leaves.
Their jade flags know
how to unfurl.
A reader her own
destiny unscrolled.
Lao Tsu said before each
his own path unfolds.
The heart hears and then
knows
its own way of gold.
