QUIET ICICLE

Silence... a rule in many ashrams
and monasteries...
a prescription for dinner tables in
which discussion is of politics, sex,
or religion...
and yet
some are like quiet icicles
... only when they start to drip
with melting do they have melody..

To help the frozen to speak
is a good thing.

VISION OF LOVE

Love sees only
indwelling divinity
Hate sees only
a list of iniquities.

CHERRYPICKERS

Climb ladders
must cherry pickers
while avoid prickers
must blackberry pickers
At night both join
with plumpluckers
pear and peachpickers
in rooms shadowed
by candle flickers
to organize against
insecticides and
fruit paper stickers

ABE LINCOLN AND HONEYBEES

What Lincoln said to slaveholders...
"They toil. You eat"
can be said to beekeepers..
and honeyeaters....
"They slave... and humans steal
and eat the fruit of their labor."

INFINITE FREQUENCIES

Infinite frequencies...
yet so few that humans
can hear or see..
and yet some say
there is no Divinity

TIDES EBB AND INRUSH

The moon waxes and wanes
Tides ebb and inrush.
Hearts beat and then rest.
After sun sets he
rises with pink brush.

TIBETAN GONG

As a mallet strikes
a Tibetan gong
so his voice tells my heart
where I belong

MUZZLED BUZZ

All the peonies beckoned him
with their purpled petals
and their dizzying fragrance.
Slowly enfolded by their satin
he blissfully guzzled while
muzzled was his buzz.

MEDITATION DIP

In meditation...
into God he dips...
and when emerging...
with grace he drips.

AUGUST MERCY RAINS

August mercy rains
into puddle skeins
and then river veins
before reaching the main.

SECRET LOVERS

Like two trees
whose branches do not touch
while their roots
are entwined
are these two
whose heart thoughts
are grapes
on each other's vines.

CHARNEL HOUSE CHARITY

She volunteered at a Christian
meal for homeless center... until
sickened by the chickens' legs
and other bones on the plates.

She volunteered at a Christian
food bank until asked to put
an entire leg of a murdered cow
into the freezer.

ENDING STAGNATION

Ending dominant male
political power
can stop illegal wars and
reform stag nations
... ceasing government murder
executions... and other
stagnation

Divine Light
all reunites
with those who
left them
unrequite

lift aloft any
lyric opinions.

RED ALL OVER?

PLANTS LOVE FRUITARIANS



plants prefer

one use the sickle

after the frost

has stilled life's tickle

and

pain is quieted

by icicles











WAITING NO LONGER



a silent saint

slipped into love's

unembodied sea

.. without funeral

fanfare

... she had when the woods

were with October on

fire..

married her beloved..

and she returned to him
