Through 2 centuries

Cattail sentries

doff their fluffy hats

and loyally stand guard

as Queen River silent

flows yond the Yard.



A Di wind churned by

universal grief

caused all riparian

blooms to bow



Windseeded

these fluffy hats

on new banks grow

with their love

of her.





CANDLES OF HEAVEN



Far above earth's

tiny scandals

blaze with love

the heavens' candles



THE PURPLE GENTIAN



Blushed violet

The shy purple gentian



neath sun's bright attention

as she drew purple fabric

from other dimensions

and traveling birds

of her beauty made mention

She like Christ's lilies

fears not for her pension

Nor does she fear

cruel frost's interventions

nor the latest in

sharp scything's inventions



in her world of deep peace

there exists no tension
