Perceived Triangle And Other Poems

Forgiving

PERCEIVED TRIANGLE

The perceived triangle
which did his soul strangle
and into knots his heart tangle
dissolved in illusion
melted in truth's light
when he changed vision's angle
and saw that the perceived intersection
.. was parallel lines

FORGIVING FOREGIVING
*
To forgive
is to release
to let go
to fore-give
to give first.
*
FLOW INTO FOE
*
When one can send
light to flow
into his foe
and witness his
most bright soulglow
love replaces
the wavering
of to and fro
*
SOLUTION TO THOUGHT POLLUTION

When anger at slaughter of innocents
creates thought pollution
prayer for all beings
is one solution

Rather than let emotion's winds
blow my raft away
I will salvage
the rest of my day

TO UNDERSTAND ALL IS TO FORGIVE ALL

He who rescues an ox
from a ditch might
be muddy for a time
as the lake in which
the lion washed his blood
is for a while
crimson with his kill.

VIETNAM

The soul humbling forgiveness
of the Vietnamese

OARCLEFT

Birds have oerleapt
the sea oarcleft.
But she has
not been harmed

Bee has petals
of clover cloven
but she has
not been harmed

THE STONES AT HER THROWN

The stones
she at her thrown
have become the cornerstones
of her lasting home of
not dead trees but stone..

*
CHERISH THE CHERRYSTONES

We cherish the
hard cherrystones,
not the clams pulled
violently from their cloisters,
but the hard pits inside
cherries,
.. inside each is a
scarlet lettered code
They are
.. the crimson chariots
of future
cherries
transformed
by the
sun's cheer..

(not a reference to shellfish)
(to Patty and Charles D)

RAM DASS

The Asian Indian Ram Dass
says that good and evil
are a projection of my mind.
Therefore it is myself
I must forgive.

LAVA TURNS TO JEWELS

She the sea
.. receives red hot
lava
and transmutes it
into green glass jewels.

She the listening compassionate
ear
turns anger into
love.

to L Lichty whose friends are gently diverted when they criticize others in her presence

MAY I FORGIVE

May I forgive remaining
greed in me..
it is a voracious
caterpillar soon to cocoon
herself..the greedeaten
green leaves will turn to wings

these poems have been written at different times since 1960
