SCULLERY MAID

Some of the chores of
the maid of the scullery:
.. to throw tiny
birds' skulls into the trash
and then to store
the marmelade

SIFTED SEA SNOW

Softly silently
cloudsifted snow
in falling sheds
its white flake clothes
and soaks into
warm sea dawnrose
as souls do one
chapter close.
Slipping out of
one body they go
and onward more
merged in God they
flow.

MISSHAPEN TREE

Would you judge
a misshapen tree?
Then why judge him
.. why judge me?

NO ABBATOIRS

Inevitably the Avatar
is melting away
all abbatoirs

MORNING STAR

In lavender dawn
The Morning Star
A dewdrop in the
Hair of the Avatar

OYSTER CLOISTERS

Evicted from their home cloisters
trillions of innocent oysters
Giving hepatitis and anaphylactic shock
when deprived of their sea moisture

NOT DISMISSED

The sun has not arrogantly
dismissed night from his presence
.. but dracula night regards
the sun's quickening rays
as lethal swords

SNOWFLAKE RESISTANCE

One snowflake refused to let go
.. did not want to lose form
and to flow
but soon he hundredth lamb
in loneliness cold
decided he wanted to
melt and to glow

SPARROWING

Sparrows rising are
spiraling.
Sparrows on the wing
are sparrowing.

SPIRALS OF SPIRIT

Through winter ice
love rises as green spears
and mellows and further grows
into taller green spires
Now outward as branches
and leaves, love spirals,
ever indwelt in all cells by her Spirit

GOD'S ADVENT

God's advent is
as quiet as the tides
as silent as the sunrise
as peaceful as melting ice
as soft as eyelids
lifting from eyes

UNLOCKED LOOMS

Only the fingerprints
of SunKing not prince
do unlock the looms
of the tree of quince

WATER'S STONES

Water's stones
in their stream thrones
by a storm
Godseaward thrown

INNER SPIRALS

While the bellicose wed
warspears to churchspires,
peace Spirit spirals outward
and to inner depths

Beneath hard church spires
which to pierce the sky aspire
the gentle spirited patient spirea

and put out misinformation..
keep voices of peace off the air
but worst is disinformation.

To her baby maggot

Mass Transit

1 has fewer collisions
2 requires no billionaire-enriching car insurance
3 requires no plutocratic holdups at the gas station
4 puts less oil into our waters
5 puts fewer fumes into our air
6 kills fewer trees
7 provides more exercise
8 prevents car thefts
9 stops car sabotage
10 eliminates arrests for going under (not through)
red lights
11 reduces the power of the petroleum lobby
12 last and not least, prevents the deaths of deer, birds, raccoons, butterflies
and hundreds of other species

LIGHTENING

The fast lightning
briefly brightening
but dawn's slow

She thought if she lost weight

But such turned out to be
a baseless fear.

FLOWER GIRL

The little flower girl
irritated her parents and the bride
not wanting to throw pastel blooms
beneath dirty shoes

DIVINE VINE

The branch of the vine
unpruned from the Divine
is not dry and withered
but God's grapemaker for wine

The clam's shell
.. in the shallows his shield

ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL SYSTEMS

Dictatorship, monarchy,
democracy and oligarchy
are political systems.
Capitalism, socialism,
and communism are
economic systems.
Communists have been
elected to office in several
democratic systems. There
are capitalist dictators.
To say that communism is
the opposite of democracy
is not correct.

SEMANTICS OF HUMAN CHAUVINISM

Human chauvinist semantics designate that
humans eat food and animals eat feed.
They designate that killing a person is murder
and killing an animal is harvesting.
They call human newborns babies
and cow newborns calves.
They hide the slaughterhouses from children.
In Utah one is not even allowed to film these
slaughterhouses, factory and fur farms without permission.

HEROES WITH ACHILLES HEELS

Many consider him a hero.
He is multilingual..
strong, of enduring will,
brilliant, controlled, fast,
loyal to his group.
He knows planes,
guns, computers, lockbreaking,
how to keep a secret, how to
quickly disguise himself.
He can go without food
sleep and sex for longer periods than most.
He is a topflight marksman.
But he has 2 Achilles heels.
First he is in a hierarchy
in which he must obey
the corrupt.
Second, he is willing to kidnap
and/or kill in his job.
