sky
they were meant
to fly
VULTURE IMPRINT UPON THE EVENING
A vulture flew across the sky at dusk .. he seemed to cross
the sun.. and in the radiance
of twilight time his angular body, bald
was for an instant imprinted upon the blazing Sun of Spirit
.
A lion came to an evening pond.. pink with the radiance
of dusk.. and in her clear limpid waters he saw his
own bloodied and muddied muzzle.. slowly he waded into
the pond.. and for a brief moment she having cleansed
him.. was now pink from blood..*
Twin raindrops on a springbranch.. one reflected a passerby
wolf.. the other holds shining Jupiter within her tiny orb
-saiom shriver-
Are vultures bald and if so is it from hair pulled after centuries of its
sticking to the intestinal blood of cadavers into which it dipped)
