Cone of Pine
Carved Shinto Shrine
.. with its Fibonacci
ones and threes and nines..
..
Some day as she
longs for her destiny
.. to be a tree
With green forked fire
she will burst her cone.
But do not fear
On each of her grandchild
trees..
will be new Shinto shrines
.. new cones of pine.
BRIGHT GOLD FIELDS
Within the husk
are bright seeds
containing future
gold fields of corn
Just so God grows
joy's bright kernels
inside the husks
of cruel scorn
APPLE TREE
The apple tree
has no commercials
in the movie of her unfolding
.. she does not make
passes at her friends
.. she does not spill
oil on newfallen snow
.. she does not sign
the fruit she gives entire
BUTTERNUT
Held the dew the concave butternut
better than the convex buttercup

He no longer daisy petals shreds to ask if her love for him has been shed

as the whole.

BEETLE BITTEN BEE BIBBED BLOOMS
The beetle bitten blooms
are now beautiful of lace
The bees have bibbed
all the nectar
and the emptied bloom chalice
will now hold new dew.
BUTTERNUT AND BUTTERCUP
Held the dew
the concave buttercup
better than

have healing
in their cups

Father winter

There are olives of wrath

There are no hidden arrows
in the bright golden yarrow
