What love is

What love is

I know what love is and what is naught

Served warm or cold be it a draught,

Its market value unapprised or bought,

By recalcitrance or noblesse oblige,

Willingly offered and not under siege,

From her body’s curves to soul reflection,

Without blemish and without confection,

I deign to say I am severely twitterpated,

By her absence or presence unabated.

For this, I must take a moment to confess,

I am unable to hold back my sallies and jaunts

My heart can hardly bear love’s measure of taunts,

So, I am prone to say, and with vehemence deplore

What love is and is not that comes ashore….
