A Poem for No One
Get away from me you slug
Slither yonder and perhaps begin to ponder
You’re stuck there
Down under
But no, you see, you will not take me.
Dig, dig so deep
Deep beneath the soil
Burrow and coil
Let the earth seep within your slimy wrinkles and folds
But, no, you see, you will not take me.
Shed your shell. Re-grow a new one-maybe under the perfect sun
Will do you just fine….But my friend, you are truly done.
