Nocturnes: Poem On A Friday Night, Summer, 1974

Across vast cosmic fields, starlights' ancient effulgences

still arrive---unnoticed, and unappreciated---upon the

mutilated surface of the small planet.  Its' machines' power

sources, thoroughly depleted.  At a distance, the planet still

presents itself blue, orbiting around a mediocre yellow star.
