[after Thomas Mann's novela, Death In Venice]
Clad in a yellow shirt and blue slacks, Jaschu; and
clad in a blue shirt and brown slacks, Tadzio; and
both barefoot, the two BoyFriends (lovers), walk the
length of the hotel's private beach, their right and
left hands, respectively, enclasped . Undeterred by
silly rules imposed by that time and society,
their loveis very obviously demonstrative (and as
it should be). After the Hotel's nightly, and very
formal, dinner ("Fine dining, no extra charge!"), they
appear again on the beach, watching the exquisitely
appointed sunset, as they, again, hold hands. Their
feet are no longer bare, but sheathed in sheer socks;
their shoes having been left behind in their respective
suites for the remainder of the evening.
