+ 9TH POEMS: θυσίαν αἴνεσις Hebrews 13:5

Lord Jesus, You have promised never to leave me nor forsake me.

I pray You Lord (I who am enraptured in You):  take me.

Cause my soul to become holier ground, where You may walk barefoot.

And having drawn me closer into Your sacred Garden, put

Yourself more deeply into me, my soul's chief exultation

beyond the storming welter of this world's cacophony.

To adore and praise You is the stellar delectation;

I pray to bear witness to this in my poetry.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I cannot say exactly how, but this was inspired by Sir John Tavener's choral piece, The Bridegroom.
