Once upon a time I was falling in love, now I only fall apart,
I need you more than you could ever know, something has been done with my heart,
like a reitred race horse, we obviously ran more than one course,
turn around to find who I was, go straight to the source.
Once upon a time there was light within sight, now I am in the dark,
I need you in my life, to set off that spark,
man, words couldn;t explain the sober pain, nor the stinging hurt,
never have five words made more sense, total eclipse of the heart.
Once upon a time there was a future up ahead, now there is only slowly lulling along,
never felt more alone than I do right now, never has a lifestyle seemed less wrong,
well if the song inspired, than forever will start tonight,
i will always love myself, and do for me what is right.
