Our secrets don’t belong in the light
And so here we are.
Long passed us is the moment for flight
So we won’t go far.
It’s all about timing and place
And accepting it all.
It’s not the truth we cannot face
But the ensuing fall.
We trust each other, and that’s enough
When we’re living in a world so rough.
We take looks at ourselves and reflect them back
Until we find ourselves on a different tack,
Safe from the flock,
Eyes on the clock.
It’s no wonder we fancy the dark
Until that unwelcome sunlit spark.
