I Choose You

In time, as I find myself missing you,

don’t want to have a single regret.

I long for every breath spent kissing you

To create memories I won’t forget.

In a world of things demanding our time

There’s no mistaking I’m placing you first.

As I take your hand we’re each in our prime

And such a moment can’t be reimbursed.

I’ve no care for those who don’t understand,

Just immense gratitude for those who do.

I’ll gladly entertain what they’ve planned

As long as it honors that I choose you.

No joy in life compares to being near

For each day is made richer with you here.
