Town Fair Gone Wrong

I couldn’t have known you’d take me right here,

And if I had I would have come prepared,

But it mattered not. With so many near

We laughed. There we were, bodies and souls bared,

Hidden from sight in the cool of the shade.

Those smooth-talking salesmen and beer-swillers,

Those sugar rush kids guzzling lemonade –

God! We had to escape those buzz killers!

What sweet relief as we lay in the brush

Getting acquainted with our every inch,

Your amorous whispers making me blush –

As if I were a deal you wouldn’t clinch.

Who’d have guessed a parade would come along?

Here’s to you, me and the town fair gone wrong.
