Morning Would

I have learned to be satisfied with less,

Wizening by increments through the years.

Gems prove fakes, words hollow. The great duress

Has taught me to avoid further tears.

New knowledge has opened up the floodgates,

Ushering in great possibilities.

The needless turmoil at last abates –

I’m in tune again with my abilities.

This business of tomorrow isn’t ours –

It will be then, but it isn’t now.

Tonight let us while away the hours

Forsaking a compulsory vow.

So little in life becomes what it should,

But I’ve always felt certain morning would.
