Please forgive me
For selling you short as I always do,
All those hurtful things I put you through.
I know that I’ve made life difficult
Laying out traps for you.
I’m sure you ask what was I thinking
When my vengefulness grew.
What sabotage did I intend pursue
Through each surreptitious rendezvous?
The answer is one I’ve yet to find out,
But I’ll examine each scissure,
Probe every fissure
Until I can erase any doubt
Of my mind’s whereabouts.
For now I’ll have to get back to you,
Yet if one thought now does come through
I’m sorry I nested and flew –
You deserved better yet I left you behind.
Please forgive me.
