Most men fare well but I crumble to smithereens.
It's neither cliched nor pathetic as it seems -
Just an indicator of how ignorance is bliss
As I stumble and fall down this culture's abyss;
Appellations of protector and patriarchal figure
Aren't exclusive to the way I'm configured.
To see me as one-dimensional makes life easy for you;
Only women are multifaceted in your view.
Well I see all that as the weight of the world,
Most visible when my heart's unfurled
Across your floor for careful inspection
Showing a conflicting complexion
With the one you'd come to expect -
One that's in need of some respect
Since nowadays men are objectified
And it's a problem that needs to be rectified.
