My most cherished of friends
Include the four legged sort
Their sweet loving eyes
Care for them's no chore

There's Shelby and Chelsea
Two sisters adopted
Jack Russell's and Chihuahuas
They're ears not too floppy

And then along came Chance
A rejected canine boy
We took him in
Proved pets were not toys

Upon Chelsea's season
Chance was aware
And she became pregnant
Five puppies to bare

Boston came first
Last Veterans Day
Followed by Poncho
Swift all the way

A half hour later
Came sweet little Chipmunk
Our only brown baby
He looked like his mother

Following shortly
Was darling Primrose
The only tiny girl
As this litter goes

Last but not least
Was AJ the baby
So soft and so creamy
That little escapee

These are my fur children
Mine none the less
Adopted, born, loved
They're all just the best

Cold little noses
Wet kisses so soft
A love such as this
Could never be bought
