The end of the world

The sun came up that morning over an Earth that was devastated. All of the buildings had crumbled to the ground, all of the lakes, rivers, and oceans had dried up, and all of the people were gone. On a lonely, flat, endless plain you could see a lone horse walking in the distance. The horse walked over hard sand and dirt. All grass, trees, and plants were gone. Also in the distance, far away from the horse, there was a lone Saint Bernard dog walking in the distance. The dog was injured and limped. The horse and dog approached each other. “Are you hurt badly?” asked the horse.

The dog said, “What happened to everything? Where is everyone? I was knocked out and fell unconscious”?

The horse replied with “I was giving a ride to my owner when we felt the ground shaking. We didn’t know what to do, so we went to a nearby store that was there and stayed there for a while. The ground continued shaking but now it was even harder.” The dog was surprised to hear this story and continued to listen to the horse. “I knew I didn’t have much time left so I went running to be with my wife and take advantage of the time I had left,” he said.

The horse and its wife went to a place they had always dreamed of but they never really had a chance to go there. It was the place they had met and they had never gone back to it before. They decided to stay there together in their last moments and to talk about what beautiful life they had lived.

“Unlike my owner,” said the horse, “I decided to live my life to the fullest and be with the person I love the most. My owner stayed in the store with people panicking and shouting about the end of the world finally arriving. He did not get a chance to go and live his last moments with his wife and children.”

“Wow! I can’t believe al of this was happening while I passed out!” said the dog. “The last thing I remember was an image of me playing with a little boy. I cant believe everyone is gone and I didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye to all the people that I love.”

After this, the dog went running around the whole city to see if he could find someone he knew and spend his or her last minutes with him. The dog was so proud of the horse for him making the right decision and choosing to go with his wife rather than staying in the store with people he didn’t know. He wished he had not passed out but instead, spend his last minutes with his loved ones.

The dog went to look around to see if he had the luck of finding anyone alive. He was not lucky enough since he didn’t find anyone he knew.
