The three friends
Little sunlight came through the cloudy and dusty sky, enough to light up the dry floor of the new earth. A new chapter in the history of earth had begun, cockroaches roamed free through the dirt and arid ground, though they were not the only ones to survive, there was the rabbit, the hawk, and the rat. The world ended as they knew it, there was no more food as they knew it, although the hawk could eat the rat or the rabbit, he didn’t, there was no point turning everything into a massacre again, so they started traveling, looking for someone else alive.
The dust and clouds started to settle in, sunlight came in in a more active way, it was now brighter than ever. Hunger started to strike in these little fellas, as they travelled for a new hope in this new earth, they were now friends, there were no predators or preys anymore, they were safe. But the hawk wanted to eat the rabbit or the rat, hunger was killing him.
“Why you want to eat us? We should keep going, we will find something awesome if we continue” – said the rat.
“Yeah, there’s no point if you eat us, you’ll be alone and die in this awful region, let’s have hope, if we’re together we can do this” – the rabbit continued.
“If I don’t eat you and continue what nature is, I will die” – The hawk replied.
They continued walking, 20 miles, 50 miles, and their friendship started to deteriorate, the hawk wanted so bad the meat of the rabbit or the rat’s one. Until they found something great, pines and flowers rose through the field, a body of water running through them, it was great, they were so happy, they ran very fast to drink water. As they ran, a very big animal flew and landed in front of them.
“I’m tired of eating fruits! Finally! Some meat for me!” – the big eagle said to the three friends.
And the eagle started to attack the hawk, because he was the bigger and stronger animal. But the other two didn’t bother to watch and started to counterattack the eagle, they started to defend their friend. Finally the eagle gave up and let the three friends drink water.
“You see my dear, if you had eaten us someone bigger would’ve done danger to you and no one would’ve stopped him” – the rat said.
“It looks like it, sorry guys I let my inner bad instincts kick in the other day, and you didn’t, you trusted me and you saved my life, I owe you, I will never ever do harm or pretend to do harm to you, we found a good place, we can feed ourselves with other things instead of us or other animal friends, earth sure will provide us” – the hawk thoughtfully responded.
