My Father’s Music CD’s
My father always bought the latest CD’s from his favorite bands. He liked every genre. His favorite, however, are classic rock, indie, and alternative. My family loves music. That explains why our family business resides in the radio/broadcasting industry. My father went to so many concerts as an adolescent he does not even remember every single band he watched live. It is impressive how he knows hundreds of songs and can identify them with its corresponding artist in a matter of seconds. He truly enjoys music in a whole different way. Since I was a young boy, I remember seeing his office filled with CD’s. He had both CD’s and fully recorded concerts. To be honest, I enjoyed the concerts more than the CD’s. I could really immerse myself in the concert and feel the music at its maximum. I remember when I was a young boy; he always picked a CD from his collection and played it every Sunday in the car. I liked every single CD he played. One particular Sunday night, I remember, he played the best CD I had and would ever listen to. The band: U2. I immediately asked my father whom that song was by. One word: U2. My father absolutely adored the Irish band. They were the best rock band in the world. Enjoyed watching Bono, the lead singer, pump up crowd while The Edge, the lead guitarist, blasted his guitar riffs at full power. The band is legendary. My father and I watched that concert live in New Castle, a hundred times. We never got bored. From that moment on I listened to many bands similar to U2. In another pile of CD’s, my father had a bunch of “The Police” CD’s. I played “Message in a Bottle” and automatically got hooked with the band. My father’s CD’s were awesome. He had so much variety and such a phenomenal taste in music. He had CD’s for every social situation: a classy dinner, “chilling out”, nostalgic nights and for late night partying. He had it all. I remember I burnt all his CD’s on my iTunes library. (I now use Spotify or Apple Music… technological progression. Every once in a while I pick up my father’s CD’s and grin, grin because I can listen to them for hours and so many memories and good vibes come back to me.
