It was then that I found you

Unaware of our fate

Seeing you inside of me

Making me awake



I think I take you for granted

All the time I have with you



The blame I throw at you

The guilt you show

Make it hard to see

How you could really love me



I’m not a girl to understand

That love and life go

Hand in hand.



I shout and curse at the

Clear vacant sky

Knowing I will never be

That high.



It’s you I see upon my

Pedestal

High in life and love and mind

Free of fear and compromise.



You sit perched,

Vagrant of myself

Your full of love

For life and self.



And here I sit

Beyond a doubt

In puddles of fear

For myself I doubt.



I’m not a girl to understand

That love and life go

Hand in hand.
