Care, an old English word,
Well worn with use
Re-used by the state,
“The child was taken into care”
The well worn phrase
Abused by the state
Taking children out of danger
Protective custody or guardianship
This we should believe
Cheshire, Merseyside, Manchester, Kincora boys home, Jersey…..
The list evergrowing
Thousands of children living in misery
And now it seems dieing unmourned
Pawns of the predator state
Care has another meaning
An occasion for anxiety
The state as ever
Chooses it’s words with care
